Modern Wicca and neo-paganism reclaimed the upright pentagram as a symbol of the four elements plus spirit. The pentagram's every diagonal divides the side of the enclosing pentagon in the golden ratio (φ ≈ 1.618), making it the only regular star polygon in which this proportion appears at every intersection.
